: CITAZIONE „The only problem with being a role model – particularly the ones I play – is that everyone’s good!“ Julian McMahon is talking about a career which, to date, has seen him usually cast as the do-gooder. As good old Ben in Home And Away, he was the type of guy any girl would unashamedly take home to meet mother. „I’m really looking forward to playing a villain for a change, instead of being Captain Good Guy,“ he tells TV WEEK during a break from his latest television outing as a uniformed cop in an episode of G.P. „In The Power, The Passion – my first television job – I touched on villainy… jst,“ he says. Unfortunately, his Contable Clutch character in the G.P.episode Beat It, to air on May 4, is no villain either. Julian is happy to report that his character does not suffer from some terminal illness. His presence is required to help Julie Winters (Denise Roberts) through her insecurities after she is attacked by bag snatchers. „Clutch is a bit …. off with all the things that are happening in the force,“ says Julian. „He aspires to be a lot more than he is, which basically is a beat policeman who looks after neighborhood security and sees that Joe Bloggs up the road isn’t getting his house robbed. But Clutch doesn’t want to be a cop on the beat – he really wants to be a private detective. „There’s no funny stuff with Clutch. He’s a pretty serious guy, which is good, because I usually get all the stupid lines.“ Julian filmed G.P., in which he appears with Bangkok Hilton star Joe Smithers, hot on the heels of Exchange Lifeguards, the movie in which he appears with Christopher Atkins, Elliott Gould and Mark Hembrow. As to be exected, his character, lifeguard Mick Dooley, is another good guy. Sappiamo quindi che il personaggio di Constable Cluth è un buono e che la sua presenza nell'episodio in questione, dal titolo Beat it, è necessaria per aiutare Julie Winters (Denise Roberts) a superare una crisi avuta in conseguenza ad uno scippo.
